Well, apparently we have a gulf now.
On September 14, 2026, Cleveland City Council passed a tongue-in-cheek resolution declaring the portion of Lake Erie along Cleveland's shoreline the “Gulf of Cleveland.”
Yes. The Gulf of Cleveland.
The satirical resolution was introduced by Cleveland Councilman Kris Harsh in response to the recent trend of government-led geographic renaming. And because this is Cleveland, the whole thing came complete with an official-looking map, plenty of jokes, and the declaration that our newly christened gulf should exist “now and forever.”
Naturally, we made a T-shirt.
Our Gulf of Cleveland T-Shirt celebrates this wonderfully ridiculous moment in Cleveland history with a simple hand-drawn design on Heather Navy.
Technically, it's still Lake Erie.
